Biography:

Deborah A. Kelly graduated with honors from the College of New Rochelle with a Bachelor of Arts in 1987.  In 1993, Ms. Kelly received her J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law, having received an award for excellence in legal writing.  While in law school, she was a member of the Family Law Clinic, providing pro bono services to those in need in the community.   

Ms. Kelly was admitted to Connecticut bar in December 1993 and the New York Bar in December 1996.  Ms. Kelly is also admitted to practice law in the Federal courts of the Eastern and Southern District of New York.

Prior to practicing law, Ms. Kelly was employed by United Airlines from 1973 to 1987, as a passenger service representative and manager. 

After being admitted to the Bar in 1993, Ms. Kelly practiced in the area of medical malpractice defense, as an associate at the international insurance defense firm of Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker, P.C.  She was also contributor to a book entitled, “Handling Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery Cases, 1996 Cumulative Supplement”. 

In 2006, Ms. Kelly became an associate of Potruch & Daab, LC, practicing exclusively in the area of matrimonial and family law.  Subsequently, Ms. Kelly joined the firm of Gassman Baiamonte Gruner, P.C. where she continues to exclusively practice in the areas of matrimonial and family law, including appellate practice.  She has assisted in the preparation and trial of complex equitable distribution, support, and child custody issues and has appellate advocacy experience involving issues of support, custody and equitable distribution.  In addition, she has conducted hearings related to custody and family offense petitions. 

Ms. Kelly is a member of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and the Matrimonial and Family Law Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association.
