Byron C. Chou practices exclusively in matrimonial and family law and leverages his extensive forensic and financial expertise in litigating matrimonial cases involving high net worth, complex equitable distribution and asset valuation matters, negotiating agreements (prenuptial, postnuptial, and separation), and resolving/litigating child custody and support issues.

Mr. Chou has a diversified background in forensic accounting and business valuation. Prior to joining Gassman Baiamonte Gruner, he was a Senior Associate with KLG Business Valuators and Forensic Accountants. During his tenure, he assisted hundreds of clients, attorneys, and judges in contested and mediated divorces, personal injury, and estate matters by conducting forensic analyses, valuations of publicly or closely-held entities/assets and executive deferred compensation packages. Byron Chou holds an Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University and a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law where he was the recipient of the Kenneth Wang Memorial Scholarship.

As a respected leader within the legal community, Byron Chou serves on the Board of Directors of the Nassau County Bar Association (he was also the former Chair of the New Lawyers Committee and the LGBTQ Committee), Vice Chair of the Asian American Attorney Section, and Board Member of the Theodore Roosevelt American Inns of Court. He also serves on the Nassau County District Attorney’s Asian Leaders Advisory Council. He is regularly invited by Nassau County Supreme Court Justices as well as Bar and civic Associations to lecture on topics ranging from matrimonial law to artificial intelligence. Moreover, Mr. Chou is widely recognized for his practice of matrimonial and family law and has received numerous awards including New York Super Lawyers (Rising Star), Nassau County Bar Association President’s Award, and the Nassau County Comptroller’s Achievement Award.
